Family exploring Edinburgh with a lightweight travel stroller

Where to Hire a Stroller in Edinburgh

Packing for a trip with a baby is its own kind of chaos. Clothes, nappies, snacks, some toy that apparently can't be left behind. And then somewhere in all that, a stroller. A big, awkward, doesn't-fold-small-enough stroller.

That's the bit I wanted to take off people's plates.

I started Cobble & Cot after noticing how often families in Edinburgh needed a stroller for just a few days and had no good way to get one. Grandparents with grandkids visiting. Parents flying in who didn't want their own pram thrown around in a plane's hold. People who just wanted something decent waiting at their hotel when they landed, instead of wrestling with it through the airport.

It began small, one stroller, one travel cot, and grew from there, mostly because people kept asking for more. Turns out nobody actually wants to own more baby gear. They just want the right piece of kit, in the right place, when they need it.

Hiring a stroller for your stay

Book a stroller with us for a city break, a visit to family, or a longer stay, and we'll deliver it wherever you're staying in Edinburgh: hotels, Airbnbs, serviced apartments, private addresses, even straight to the airport. Or collect it free from our spot on Leith Walk.

Every stroller gets a proper clean and check before it goes out. Pick your dates online, and if you need a rain cover, cosy toes or a platform for an older sibling, add those too, whatever the model allows.

Most visitors do best with something lightweight. The BABYZEN YOYO2 and Joolz Aer² are our go-tos: compact, quick to fold, and far less hassle than something bulkier when you're hopping between cafés, museums, taxis and buses. We've also got a double stroller if you're travelling with two under three.

What's Edinburgh actually like with a stroller?

Gorgeous. Also hilly, cobbled, and full of steps, especially around the Old Town. None of that rules out a stroller, but it does mean the model matters more here than it might elsewhere.

New Town, Leith, Stockbridge and most of the parks are easy going. The Royal Mile is doable, if a little bumpy underfoot. Some of the closes and side streets have proper steps, so it's worth glancing at your route before you head out.

If your trip is more woodland walks and hills than pavements, a carrier might actually suit you better than a stroller. Message us before you book. I'd rather point you toward the right thing than have you stuck with something that doesn't fit your plans.

And bring a rain cover even if the forecast looks fine. Edinburgh weather does not care what the forecast says.

Delivery to your hotel, Airbnb or the airport

Easiest option, usually, is delivery straight to where you're staying. Hotels that allow it, we'll leave it with reception. Airbnbs and apartments, we'll sort the handover details with you beforehand.

We also do drop-off and collection at Edinburgh Airport, handy if you want a stroller the moment you land without hauling your own through security. Flight delayed? Just message us and we'll shift things around.

Or collect and return for free from Leith Walk. We'll send the full address once your booking's confirmed.

One less thing to carry

Travelling with a small child is never going to be smooth, exactly. Something always goes sideways, someone needs a snack at the worst possible time, and you'll pack more than you meant to no matter what.

But turning up to a clean stroller, travel cot or car seat that's already sorted takes one bulky, annoying thing off your list. That's really all this is about.

Have a browse of what we've got for hire in Edinburgh, compare models and prices, and if you're not sure what fits, just tell us your child's age, your dates and where you're staying. Happy to help you figure it out.

Arrive with less. We'll have the rest ready.
